Original Cognac Leather Modular Lounge Sofa on a Full Foam Structure

Designed by Michel Ducaroy during the mid 1980s, the Yoko stands as one of the most understated and rare creations within the Ligne Roset collection. Produced only for a short period, this model represents a more refined and architectural evolution of Ducaroy’s iconic low seating concepts, sitting somewhere between the expressive softness of the Togo and a more restrained, almost Japandi like minimalism.

Executed in original cognac leather, the sofa showcases a beautifully aged surface with a rich and natural patina. The leather retains its depth and vitality, with visible grain, subtle creasing and a warm tonal variation that enhances its sculptural presence. The construction relies entirely on layered foam, allowing the upholstery to drape and fold in a controlled, organic way without losing its structural integrity.

The condition is very good vintage, with light signs of age that contribute positively to its character. There is one localized area with superficial craquelé, consistent with use over time, while the rest of the leather remains clean, supple and well preserved. The leather itself is thick and of high quality, and the foam is supportive and resilient, offering a low, deep and relaxed seating comfort true to Ducaroy’s vision of informal living.

As a design piece, the Yoko remains significantly rarer than the widely known Togo or Kashima models. Its limited production and subtle design language make it particularly appealing to collectors and interiors that favour quieter, more sophisticated statements. It integrates seamlessly in contemporary, modernist or warm minimal interiors while maintaining a strong vintage identity.
