The table was originally retailed by the Italian company Mario Sabot in 1972 as part of the Alveo range. This collection combined Modernist design with richly stained wood and brass accents, creating a warm and glamorous aesthetic. Enhancing its luxurious appeal, the table features solid brass faceted corners—Rizzo’s signature detail—that transform his design into a statement piece. The Alveo design, meaning "riverbed," has been featured in several publications, including the July/August 1972 issue of Casa Vogue, Maison & Jardin (September 1973, p. 131), and Le Retour de Willy Rizzo in AD (Issue 86, September 2009, p. 54).
