The Oriolo sofa, designed by Claudio Salocchi for Sormani in the 1960s, stands as a refined example of Italian modernist design, combining architectural clarity with soft, inviting comfort. Its sculptural silhouette and distinctive cut out base give the piece a strong yet elegant presence.

The leather was originally light grey and has naturally evolved into a soft cream tone over the years. It is an open, natural leather that remains exceptionally supple, with no dryness, cracking or structural damage. As expected with this type of leather, color and age, the surface shows visible patina, including stains and discoloration, contributing to its authentic vintage character.

The sofa is perfectly usable in its current state and offers a comfortable, relaxed seating experience. At the same time, it provides an excellent base for reupholstery should a cleaner or more tailored finish be desired.

The rosewood frame is in good condition with normal signs of use along edges and corners, consistent with age, and can be easily refreshed if preferred.
