Designed by the great Charlotte Perriand, Nuage is part of the i Maestri collection—a curated selection of Cassina’s most prestigious works, alongside design giants such as Le Corbusier. Originally conceived for the modernist town of Cité Cansado in the 1950s, this low Model 526 configuration was reissued by Cassina in 2012 and is no longer produced, making surviving examples notably scarce on the secondary market.

The piece combines an oak-veneered top and plinth with black lacquered sheet-metal sides and backs. Perriand’s signature perforated uprights allow precise shelf or drawer positioning, while the sliding doors—in graphite grey, ivory, and black—glide quietly thanks to melamine-over-masonite construction. Branded to the edge with the Cassina I Maestri stamp, sequential number, and Perriand facsimile signature, this re-edition captures the architectural clarity of the original.

Significance & style. True to Perriand’s mantra “create emptiness,” Nuage brings order and calm. Its restrained palette and rigorous geometry anchor minimalist, Japandi, bohemian-chic, and contemporary interiors alike—equally compelling as a living-room credenza or dining-room sideboard.
