This striking pair of lounge chairs was designed by Giuseppe Munari for Poltrona Munari in Italy during the 1970s. With their exceptionally generous proportions, low-slung silhouette and voluptuous upholstered volumes, the chairs are a powerful expression of Italian design from the period.

The design is particularly distinguished by the contrast between the soft, almost floating cushions and the exposed chromed steel structure. The generously padded seat, backrest and armrests wrap around the sitter, while carefully positioned leather details embrace the visible metal frame. Both chairs have recently been professionally reupholstered in beautiful, thick high-quality black leather.
