Harry’s bar - Massimo Papiri - Mario Sabot

Glamorous, iconic & rare cocktail table “Harry’s Bar” with swivel out hidden internal illuminated bar compartment.
Designed by famous italian decorator Massimo Papiri for atelier ‘Mario Sabot’ - 1973

This iconic cocktail table is designed by Massimo Papiri. His cocktail tables are amongst his most inventive and therefore most wanted objects of the designer. This piece is exemplary for the architectural glamour style that Papiri is known for. The black top matches the clean aluminum in a staid yet harmonious way. The inside of this cocktail table features an illuminated dry bar, making this table functional, sculptural, and metamorphic at the same time. Resembles the style of Willy Rizzo which is no surprise as Mario Sabot also produced his works.
This table was published in the May 1973 issue of Casa Vogue. According to page 62 in James P Goss' book "POP CULTURE FLORIDA' Papiri’s interior design commissions include among others the Ritz hotel in Paris as well as interiors for film stars such as Sylvestor Stallone, Papiri redesigned the interior of Stallone’s coconut grove mansion.
