DS-P lounge chair - Robert Haussmann - De Sede Swiss
DS-P Executive Swivel Lounge Armchairs by Robert Haussmann for De Sede, Switzerland 1971
Camel Cognac Aniline Leather Lounge Chairs on Polished Chrome Swivel Bases
Designed in 1971 by Robert Haussmann for De Sede, the DS-P is one of the most iconic and architecturally expressive models of its era. Produced between 1971 and 1979, it captured the market with its powerful sculptural presence and uncompromising comfort. Today, original 1970s examples in this condition are exceptionally difficult to source. These executive swivel lounge armchairs are ultra rare on the secondary market.
The substantial, almost monolithic form is softened by the signature honeycomb tufting, creating a striking three dimensional relief across the backrest and seat. Upholstered in stunning camel cognac aniline leather, the surface reveals a beautiful natural grain with a rich pattern of pores, folds and subtle tonal variation. De Sede’s legendary craftsmanship is evident in every seam. The generous down filling combined with the honeycomb construction ensures extraordinary seating comfort and ergonomic support.
Both chairs remain in beautiful vintage condition with normal signs of use consistent with their age. The leather has developed a warm and attractive patina that enhances their character. Structurally perfect and exceptionally comfortable, these chairs offer the full De Sede experience.
We also have the patching 2-seater available.
