Extremely rare and historically important. The Bull was produced for only 1 year. Just 1 single year in the Cassina catalogue. This makes it one of the most short lived and exclusive Cassina designs of the 1980s.

Designed in 1987 as Frattini’s final project for Cassina, Bull represents his ultimate reflection on comfort and posture. When presenting the model he explained how our way of sitting had changed : more relaxed, more intimate, more fluid. The back must support the body precisely where seat and backrest meet, forming a rounded and inviting angle. That philosophy is sculpted into Bull’s unmistakable silhouette.

From the exterior inward the form evolves into increasingly softer curves. The segmented, almost muscular volumes give the sofa its name, inspired by the friendly yet powerful Disney cartoon Bull. The thick architectural armrests, deeply curved back cushions and compact cylindrical feet create a strong sculptural presence while remaining visually balanced.

This original bicolor execution in black and taupe leather is even rarer. The contrast accentuates the layered construction.

The leather presents a beautiful natural patina with refined creasing that enhances the character of the piece. The proportions are bold yet controlled. Powerful yet inviting. A true late 1980s Cassina statement piece and an increasingly difficult model to source, especially as a complete 3 and 2 seater set in original bicolor leather.
