Designed by Michel Ducaroy for Ligne Roset, the Aralia is a rare and collectible lounge model from the early 1980s. A lesser-seen sibling to Ducaroy’s iconic Togo and Kashima series. This single-seater with matching ottoman, purchased new in 1981 and preserved by its first owner, remains in its original natural leather. The hide has aged with grace, developing a warm and even patina that enhances its sculptural softness and inviting character.

The Aralia embodies Ducaroy’s hallmark philosophy of comfort through form: a low, organic silhouette made entirely from foam, dressed in deeply quilted natural hide. The continuous horizontal pleating enhances the sense of rhythm and visual flow, while the ottoman completes the composition as an extension of the seat.

Condition is very good for its age. The foam remains firm and supportive, retaining its ergonomic integrity. The leather shows minor wear consistent with careful use, including gentle darkening at the headrest area. Authentic vintage character that only enhances its charm.
