Aralia - Michel Ducaroy - Ligne Roset
Aralia Lounge Chair by Michel Ducaroy for Ligne Roset, 1979
Original patterned fabric upholstery on a soft sculptural foam base
This early Aralia production, manufactured in 1979 and confirmed by its original Roset production stamp, is one of the rarest lounge models designed by Michel Ducaroy. Upholstered in the first generation fabric, it features a finely detailed micro floral rosette motif in warm olive on a sand toned ground. This textile is long discontinued and nearly impossible to source today, making the piece highly collectible.
The sculptural foam silhouette, signature horizontal quilting and cocoon like seat demonstrate Ducaroys focus on comfort through form. Despite its age, the chair remains in excellent vintage condition. The foam is supportive and the fabric shows gentle and even ageing with all original labels and stitching intact.
A seldom seen seventies original that brings warm texture and quiet sculptural presence to both minimal and eclectic interiors.
